Behind the chair - Tasos
Tasos was born into the hair industry as both his mother and older brother were hairdressers in his native Greece, and taught him to cut hair as a child. He relocated to London four years ago where he worked at a salon in the West End before making the move to Ruffians' Marylebone barbershop a couple of years back.
What made you get into barbering, and how did you end up at Ruffians?
I studied accountancy back in Greece, however after a while I realised I had no passion for it. I am from a hairdressing background with my mother and brother both hairdressers, so moving into barbering was a really easy decision. Since moving to London 5 years ago, I had always heard great things about Ruffians so really wanted to join such a successful company, and here we are.
What’s your favourite thing about Ruffians Marylebone?
The team spirit that we have with the guys here. Everyone is helping each other which is make your life much easier.
And what’s your best bit of Marylebone?
What I really like about the area is the so many options for lunch-dinner haha. No seriously, so many.
What do you get up to outside of work?
I love watching football and supporting my club. Chilling and playing video games. And of course cooking.
What’s your biggest achievement in hair?
My biggest achievement, I think, is that I make people happy every day.
What’s your favourite Ruffians product?
Hair cream. 10000% hair cream
Fun fact about you...
I think Game of Thrones ended exactly how it should end. :) Sit in my chair for a haircut and try to change my opinion.
