Meet The Team - Marylebone
As many of you will know, we boast five barbershops - four across central London and our OG in Edinburgh’s West End.
We’re sure that a fair few of you have your favourite; it could be the one where your chosen barber lays his scissors, it could be the one with the best music playing, or it could just be the one that’s opposite your office. Whatever your reason we appreciate your loyalty and support.
However, we also want you to know that everyone is welcome at any of our outposts, and you can be assured of the same great service and atmosphere across all of our shops. Or maybe you’ve yet to visit any of our stores and would like to know which one sounds like the one for you.
Over the coming weeks we’ll be taking a look at each of the stores and the talented snippers who call each spot home, starting here with our Marylebone barbershop.
The Barbershop
Ruffians Marylebone boasts minimalist contemporary decor with an abundance of natural light. It can be found on Wigmore Street, just five minutes walk from Bond Street tube station and almost in the shadow of the Oxford Street, Europe’s busiest shopping thoroughfare. There are an abundance of restaurants, bars and flagship stores in the immediate vicinity.
Open 5 days a week, and with 7 chairs available, we welcome bookings and walk-ins for all of our services.
The Team
Naomi, Manager
Proud Northerner Naomi started cutting hair at the age of fourteen and, after many years at high end salons, she decided to head south and move into barbering three and a half years ago. Her unique skill set and worth ethic saw her promoted to Manager of our Marylebone shop last year, a role she has flourished in. Her large client list backs up our opinion that she is one of central London’s finest hair professionals.
Grace
As one of the company’s most experienced snippers, Grace has over thirty years of experience in barbering. Her career has seen her pick up a diploma in her craft as well as working in some of the capital’s most renowned spots including the barbershop at Selfridge’s. She has been with Ruffians since 2015 and has since built up a large and loyal clientele who wouldn’t go anywhere else for their haircut
Tasos
Tasos was born into the hair industry as both his mother and older brother were hairdressers in his native Greece, and taught him to cut hair as a child. He relocated to London four years ago where he worked at a salon in the West End before making the move to Ruffians a couple of years back. He is passionate about cutting all hair styles but his favourites are skin fades and classic pompadours.
Joey
The newest face at our Marylebone barbershop, Joey joined us a year ago after relocating from his hometown of Cheltenham where he owned and ran a successful studio barbershop of his own. His excellent cutting skills and positive nature have seen him quickly build up a loyal and varied clientele.
Leigh
Edinburgh-born Leigh actually used to sit in an office opposite our Edinburgh shop doing a job she “hated”, thinking it looked like a cool place to work. Fast forward a decade or so and; via Australia where she started her hair career; she now works for us and calls London home. Leigh is a popular barber who is competent in all hair types and styles, from the classic to the contemporary.
Josh
Josh has been working in hair ever since the day he left school. He took an apprenticeship at one of the country’s most illustrious salon brands where he learned and perfected his craft. Almost a decade ago he decided to concentrate fully on barbering and embarked on his journey at Ruffians. Josh is also a renowned educator who has helped train hundreds of budding barbers over the years.
