Ruffians Wins British Barbershop Of The Year 2022

Under the lights at Salon International, the country’s foremost hair industry event, we are delighted to announce that Ruffians was awarded British Barbershop Of The Year for the third time.

The award was presented to a large clan of ecstatic Ruffians by Simon Shaw, the Global Artistic Director of barbering super brand Wahl. In winning this award for the third time, Ruffians has now been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

It’s a great achievement as the journey to becoming the winners is a formidable one. First you have to be nominated as one of the leading lights in your field (an honour in itself). This is based on a host of attributes from ethos, marketing, salon design and skillset. Then, as part of the judging process, mystery shoppers visits each of the nominees to rate and review the service on offer, showing that our’s is second to none.

Of course, we are immensely proud of all of the awards that we have received over the years, but this one feels extra special. Being the first full year of opening after the pandemic - something which effected our industry (as well as many others) so suddenly and significantly - we feel that this is proof that we have bounced back stronger and better than ever before.

It is a testament both to the hard work, dedication and skill of our barbers and the loyalty of our fantastic customers. Without both of these vital components winning the award would not have been possible, so thank you.

The huge trophy, which shares some similarities with the Champions League, has now found its home at our Shoreditch barbershop. It’s in good company there - until we build the Real Madrid style trophy room!
