Tyler’s Top 10 Essentials
Smartphone – I’ve pretty much always had an iPhone and when I didn’t, I longed to have one again. Recently upgrading to the iPhone 8, it keeps me connected and serves me well – especially with the camera to get quick shots of my finished cuts in Portrait Mode.
Pen – I’ve always got my Fisher Space Pen 400 Gold Ball Pen on me, you just never know when it might come in handy.
Book – currently reading ‘I Am Pilgrim’ by Terry Hayes, I am a fan of writers such as Charles Bukowski, Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, Oscar Wilde, Stephen King and Martin Amis amongst others. It’s got to be a hardcopy as I don’t go in for these electronic versions and need to have the touch, feel and smell of paper to really enjoy the reading experience.
Footwear – Dr. Marten’s and Converse high-tops are my go to staples however, I am a sneakerhead at heart and have plenty of pairs still boxed, fresh and ready to be worn on the right occasions – one day!
Jewellery – my body feels bare without my gold rings and chain. There’s load of other pieces I’m hoping to get and my preferred places are The Bricks London and LoveBullets for their quality and affordability.
Notebooks – I’m a firm believer that a guy should be the owner of a good wallet, nice watch, and a trusted Moleskine. I like the soft cover, ruled paper notebooks best and can often be found scribbling away whether it’s my thoughts, random notes or diagrams of cutting techniques.
Rucksack – footwear and bags take up the most space in my house, ordinarily I opt for Herschel but took a real fancy to American utility and European minimalist brand, Stighlorgan – in particular, this durable and versatile black on black ‘Ronan Rolltop’ backpack.
Camera – I recently purchased the Nikon D5300 mostly to capture high-quality of work but have taken it to the streets to. What I like most is the WiFi function to transfer all shots to my phone – you can check out my life through a lens @thetylerpeters on Instagram.
Flask – I’m a coffee fiend through-and-through but since stumbling upon T2 on Redchurch Street it was love at first sip. I recommend the New York Breakfast, Banana Bake, Mint Mix or the Matcha.
Headphones – Urbanears are a fond favourite, minimalist performance at it’s best. In black, of course the Plattan 2 Bluetooth cans are a decent shout.
