Meet George Wilkins – Ruffians Marylebone’s Graduate Barber / Rock Star
We’re delighted to introduce George – who recently became a graduate barber at Ruffians Marylebone. George is continuing his training with Ruffians, building on the skills and technniques he’s already learned while completing his barbering qualifications. And so far George seems to be enjoying the experience:
I love everything about being a barber! I’ve met so many cool people – from everyone I met during my training, to the amazing team here at Ruffians Marylebone – which is a great social environment. I also love the creative freedom the job brings how with every haircut you help someone to present their unique identity, whether they go for a more classic cuts or opt for something more out there.George
George was brought up in south west London, a stone’s throw from Twickenham. His story goes… school, retail work, travelling, building work, started a band and now barbering here at Ruffians.
It’s been an adventure so far and long may that continue.George
Outside of Ruffians, George’s band takes up most of his spare time and he has an eclectic taste in music – everything from the blues, classic soul and Motown, rock right through to country and hip hop.
“My all time favourite songs are Stealers Wheel ‘Stuck in the Middle with You’ and David Bowie ‘Young Americans”George
In terms of hairdressing, George particularly loves cutting longer styles and is working hard to perfect his scissor skills. He is on the lookout for hair models to hone his fast-developing skills on!
